My son has been removing the playground from school, one rock at a time.
This is not a joke. He brings these rocks to our friends as gifts.
His recess time is spent mining the grounds for beautiful objects to share with others.
I write this with at least one of the rocks within grasping distance. His bedroom hosts numerous specimens, all of them orange or reddish in hue, all dense with quartz crystals, they are beautiful in their own way and I understand why he collects them.
Some days he brings home dozens of small stones, spilling out of each pocket. Today he had one very large stone “it took forever to get out of my pocket” he announced.
The dryer has discovered, and discharged, many stones from his pants over the school year so far.
